Well put. Texas has put themselves in a good spot for both, but there is still a season to be played.Officially, I think you're correct. I think they know, however. Browning and Hines have been BIG fans of Texas and also certain members of our coaching staff. There's been some brief flirtations with other suitors as one might expect . . . but we've remained there the whole time. The luster of some of that flirtation has began to wear off. And we're sitting where we want to be sitting. Staff could not ask for better position.
With all that said, back to your post . . . I agree that if we lays some eggs like we did last year, particularly in the opener – things could change. There is much hope in the air right now amongst everyone who follows the Horns, including and most significantly the recruits. If we don't show that we're about to happen big time, they won't come. Especially two as big as these are.
But if both were forced to make a call today, I've been told it would be Texas for both. That was recently and before this thread.
Who knows? Still a ton of time until November and anything can happen.
Let's hope we have a strong finish to the season. Another beat down at the hands of TCU would be fresh on their minds as they make their decision. Texas doesn't have to win that game, but they have to be competitive and playing at a high level if they want to land the type of class that they want.Well put.
