I like a quote from his HS coach which basically said that Shack needed to be restrained more than prodded in regards to playing hard.
One other thing about that video that was funny is how easy it is to spot Jones

He is gigantic

He looks like he could eat my house

(yet Shack did great one-on-one with him)

Anybody else kind of doing a slight dance in their seat over all this news? I mean I'm not really going to break a sweat until NSD. But I love me some good vibes.
I agree all the news is positive right now and the coaches are doing all they can at this point. NSD is either going to be awesome or complete meltdown... LOL

Zach Shackleford | Thoughts From His HS Coach By: Gabriel Posted on: January 18, 2016

First off, I’d like to thank Belton offensive line coach Jacob Hunter for taking the time for this Q&A. Below are his answers to some general questions about new Texas offensive line commit, Zach ‘Shack’ Shackleford.

http://texas.thefootballbrainiacs.com/2016/01/zach-shackleford-thoughts-from-his-hs-coach/

GA: What is Zach’s current height/weight?

JH: Zach is currently at 6’3, 290 lbs.

GA: What position do you envision Zach playing well, at the collegiate level?

JH: In my professional opinion Zach would best be used as either guard or center. I mainly would say center because Zach is a very athletic kid who has skills that could help him snap the football as well as being a natural born leader on and off the field, intangibles that a center must have.

GA: What technique and type of blocks does Zach excel at, hands, feet, base, reach, down, etc.?

JH: All of the above are great. There are no blocks that Zach cannot accomplish he is great at appoint of attack on all of the blocks we asked him to perform.

GA: What ‘intangibles’ do you see in Zach that only a coach may realize about a player?

JH: Zach has an intangible that every coach dreams about, to tell him how to accomplish something one time and you never have to tell him again. Not only is he extremely coachable but he is an outstanding young man off the field, which solves abundant of headaches a coach might have with his athletes. His attitude once he steps on the field is another intangible that someone cannot coach and that every coach in the world wish they could teach. List could go on and on…..

GA: How soon, in your opinion, may Zach play at the collegiate level?

JH: I cannot say for sure when he will get his chance but I know it will be sooner than the average D1 football player. It is my opinion however; Zach will be on the field at the collegiate level pretty soon because of his work ethic. He will strive to do what he can to make his team and himself better every day.
