Its time to fire Strong

And how about Mack Brown at #10??
Fred Akers is still breathing as well.
Kidding aside, Akers won a crapload of games at Texas only to get canned in the Rooster Andrews sporting goods parking lot.

Saw this posted on another board. The records Strong is setting.

Good :
8th best offensive yardage performance in a game (Cal 2015)

Bad :

Worst Yardage Defense in School History (yardage, 2015, after Baylor gets 342 yards)
4th worst Yardage Defense in School History (2014)
Worst point Defense in School History (2015, if Baylor scores 33 points)
8th Worst Defense in School History (2014 by points)
First coach with back to back 7+ loss seasons
2nd Worst Offensive performance in Texas history (2014 Arkansas - 59 yards)
2nd Worst Run Yards Gained in a game in Texas history (2014 Arkansas - 2 yards)
4th most punts in Texas History (2014)
5 of 25 worst defensive performance in Texas history (2014 TCU, 2015 : Cal, TCU, TT, ND)
6th worst run defense in Texas History (2014)
Top 5 worst run defense in Texas History (2015 - probably finishes 4th worst)
5th most completions allowed (2014)
3rd highest completion percentage against (2014)
Worst completion percentage defense in Texas History (2015)
3rd worst pass defense in Texas history (2015 - If Baylor passes for 300 yards)
Worst kick return average in Texas history (2014)
2nd fewest recovered fumbles in Texas history (2014)
Fewest forced fumbles in Texas history (2014)
6th most sacks by opponent (OSU 2015)
First season to ever to lose games vs TCU, Baylor and Tech.

Summary : Texas will have its worst defense in school history this year, yet many here think an OC is solving our problems?

If the defense is on the field most of the game because of inept offense..Bad stats are gonna happen. I wonder how many more minutes our defense has been on field compared to our offense.

Defense has been on the field an average of about 33 minutes a game. Offense about 27 minutes.

Doesn't sound like a lot of difference. And it's not like the defense didn't have opportunities to get off the field but didn't because of their own ineptitude.

I'm wondering how these times compare to defensive teams like Bama, LSU & Oklahoma

A more accurate depiction would number of plays run by opposition compared to our offense. All the up tempo pass happy offenses skew the time of possession stat. Total plays run is a much better picture. Although even that can be deceiving if the opposition scores quickly. At my nephew's playoff game last week, after one quarter they had run 11 plays but were up 21-0. Two quick strikes and a punt return TD.

718 plays for Texas

871 plays for opponents
