2015 Recruiting Season is in full swing

Some recruiting notes.

1-I now see why Strong brought all those Florida kids together on the same visit, and focused on them. It's sounding like Clarington, Irvin, Davis, and Cronkite all want to play together. IMO if we get one of these guys we are going to hit the jackpot. Very smart move by Strong this weekend.

2-I thought Cecil Cherry was a long shot, but I had no clue his god brother was Desmond Harrison and he's also good friends with Chris Nelson (they played HS ball together).

Strong might be opening up a Florida pipeline very soon.

Couple notes on a couple of the visitors, per IT --.

LB Cecil Cherry (Lakeland, FL) -- currently committed to "don't shoot me I am not a deer" orange UT.  Supposedly told other recruits he will flip to the real UT.  We will see.

ATH Tim Irvin (Palmetto Bay, FL) now "70%" lean to us.

Could you imagine being able to recruit Florida and Texas at will? That's a collegiate coach's dream. And I'd argue that there isn't a school in the nation who has truly been able to make it happen yet.

2015 DB Antonie Stephens (6'1,187) of Dallas Kimball

"Dallas Kimball cornerback Antoine Stephens has not seen any offers come his way just yet but that will almost assuredly soon change for the under-the-radar senior.

The 6-foot-1, 187-pound defender is incredibly physical at the line of scrimmage and also has no problem playing in man coverage. His Hudl film is set to private but colleges have already starting noticing him.

Oklahoma and Oklahoma State have shown the most interest but Texas A&M has taken notice as well. In the next couple of weeks, as grades come out and his transcripts are reviewed by schools, he will certainly have his first offers."

Texas picked a great game to get a win.. Alot of recruits got to see that that Defense is nasty and that they can play early on both sides of the ball.

Ohio St doesnt have any commits from Texas, but they do have 2 DBs from FLA.

The most likely is Carlton Davis who is known to already have had contact from us

247 on ATH Tim Irvin and his recent visit --

“It was nice,†Irvin said. “The coaches showed a lot of love.†

“He’s an awesome coach.  He wants me out there and said I could have an impact like Teddy Bridgewater had for him when he was at Louisville. He said I can be like that. He said he can make me better on and off the field. It was an inspiring speech. I have a big decision coming up.†

“Everyone is in good shape,  I’m just open.†

“They have a nice campus and facilities. I thought the whole place was great. I took a whole school tour.†

“Coach Strong said it wasn’t a surprise because they had confidence they would win.â€

IT on the Boyd brothers and their recent visit--

Kris -- "Diggs was all over White. Even when they caught the ball, they were getting popped. The defense was relentless. Those dudes were popping."

"Speechless.  Me and DeMarco were talking about it. Every defensive stand, the crowd got up. I was hype."

"Heck yeah!! What an experience."
------------------------------------------------------
DeMarco --  "People and recruits need to give Strong a chance.  I loved the game, the atmosphere, and Austin overall. Texas has so much to offer."

"Those boys were hype.  But you have to be to play for Strong."

"I was excited when Texas offered.  I looked at Texas' depth chart and looked into visiting. I'm going to take a visit on December 16th to Texas and January 16th I'll be going to USF. I'm going to take more, I'm just looking at what schools I will visit. It'll probably go to Rutgers and West Virginia too."

"I think me and Deandre (Baker) will play college ball together, we played Optimist (Pop Werner) together and should play in college together too."
