2015 Recruiting Season is in full swing

One of our head recruiting cheerleaders -- DE Charles Omenihu -- visited Arizona State this past weekend.

And saw a good performance.

Ohio St doesnt have any commits from Texas, but they do have 2 DBs from FLA.

The most likely is Carlton Davis who is known to already have had contact from us

Looks like my guess on the mystery Ohio St. commit who may visit us was correct, its Carlton Davis

(Crystal Ball shows 100% Miami)

William Wilkerson tweet from today, "Stopped by to see Longhorns commit Charles, he's all UT." Charles was also flashing the Hook'em sign.

I hope Charles takes some more visits and does some recruiting for us.

BON's Westcott Ebert's has some things to say about Charles Omenihu, DeShon Elliott and John Burt http://www.burntorangenation.com/recruiting/2014/11/11/7199583/texas-longhorns-recruiting-commit-visits-darrin-kirkland-john-burt-auburn

Here is the part on John Burt with some interesting insight on our WR recruiting in general --

".......... And now for the really bad news. For the second time in just more than a month, Tallahassee (Fla.) Lincoln wide receiver John Burt made his way to Auburn for a game, watching as Texas A&M managed to pull out a late victory thanks to some major Tiger miscues.

But what happened during the game is probably immaterial compared to the fact that he was there. A visit to Austin for the Iowa State game didn't help solidify his decision as his longtime connections to the program seem to be making less and less of a difference in his final decision as time moves on.

Speaking of which, he's now talking about making a "tough decision" in the near future and the industry increasingly believes that pick will be the Tigers, with 10 predictions in the 247Sports Crystal Ball coming in for Auburn.

At this point, it just seems like a matter of time until the Longhorns lose their top-rated commit in the class.

Considering the fact that wide receiver recruiting in the state has tanked under Les Koenning, with the former Mississippi State offensive coordinator unable to land a prospect from his father's district in Kemah Siverand, the loss of Burt would be another blemish on his record.

Throw in the fact that firing Darrell Wyatt cost Emanuel Porter and a shot at Demarkus Lodge and no one is buying Koenning stock as a recruiter right now. But hey, at least Reggie Hemphill likes Texas so much that the staff couldn't blow that one by initially pulling his offer. And Collin Johnson is a legacy, making his recruitment a lay up.

If only every recruitment could be as easy as those two, Koenning might look like a decent recruiter......."

Westcott has been pissed about loosing Darrell Wyat for too long. He needs to let it go... everything will be fine...

Miami TE recruit Devonaire Clarington: "And the school, it runs Texas as far as I'm concerned. And that's a big state."

I guess he doesn't know about #WRTS

Dec 5 is setting up as a potentially big recruiting weekend

--  LB Darrin Kirkland, Jr. of Indianapolis, IN (more on him below)

--  TE Chris Clark of Avon, CT

Another possible is CB Mark Fields (South Carolina commit).

As well as WR Ryan Newsome of Aledo who is reported to be trying to move his OV set for January to that weekend. He has already taken 4 OV.  We will be his last.

This weekend is 2 weeks before LB Malik Jefferson makes his announcement.

So, could create a big roll of momentum.

Here is a tweet from Kirkland with Ryan Newsome and OL Drew Richmond on their visit to ou last weekend.

You can see the message -- "package deal"

Drew Richmond is a four-star 6-4, 275-pound OT from Memphis who is committed to Ole Miss.

Coach Strong recently followed him on twitter.

And Richmond recently followed Mike Giglio (our recruiting coordinator)

Maybe they will show up Dec 5 weekend together?

WR JF Thomas of Dallas South Oak Cliff on his offer --

“I was feeling good about it.  I was waiting on them to offer me, to be honest, and they finally did it. TCU is good, but Texas is on the next level.†
