Texas special teams coach Jeff Banks added the first addition to his group from the portal, with former New Mexico Lobo longsnapper Trey DuBuc announcing his commitment to the Longhorns via his social media.
DuBuc, a native of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, signed a National Letter of Intent with South Florida and played one season with the Bulls. He entered the transfer portal and committed to the Lobos in January, 2025 before playing last season in Albuquerque.
Interesting fact on DuBuc is his dad, Matt, was a wide receiver at Texas Tech from 1993-1996.
He becomes the second portal addition today for the Longhorns as he follows former Arkansas defensive tackle Ian Geffrard’s commitment.
