It’s been a month and a half since Tom Herman and the Texas Longhorns received a verbal pledge in the 2020 recruiting class. This changed on Saturday evening when Bishop Dunne Running Back Jaden Hullaby announced his intentions to play college football in Austin.
Hullaby, a 3 star prospect on the 247 Composite, received an offer several weeks ago while visiting the Texas program. He transferred from Mansfield Timberview after his sophmore year to Bishop Dunne High School, where he helped lead the Falcons to the 2018 TAPPS Division 1 State Football Championship. Hullaby rushed for 1181 yards on 229 carries and added 396 receiving yards, finishing the season with 16 total touchdowns.
While the Longhorns will likely take multiple running backs in the class, Hullaby’s versatility will allow the staff to utilize him in a variety of ways. At 6-2, 205 lbs with a frame that can handle more growth, he’s an ideal candidate for the H-Back position. With his speed and good hands, Texas has a weapon in Hullaby that adds tremendous value to the team’s offense.
Hullaby becomes the 5th commit of the 2020 class, joining quarterback Hudson Card and offensive linemen Logan Parr, Jaylen Garth, and Jake Majors.
