Commit #14 is in the books for Texas as Bastrop cornerback Antwuan David verbally committed to play football at the University of Texas today. Davis, ranked #171 on the 2013 Rivals250 list, has received offers from a multitude of schools including Arkansas, Florida, Michigan, Notre Dame, Oklahoma and TCU. He is listed at 6’0″ and 180 lbs and has excellent speed for a physical cornerback, which Davis most definitely is. With limited scholarships available in this class Texas must think very highly of Davis to make the offer considering they have offers out to numerous other d-backs in Dulles High School’s Maurice Smith, Vista Murietta’s (CA) Su’a Cravens, Dr. High’s (FL) Marcell Harris and Ridgeland High School’s (GA) Vonn Bell.  It is not all that clear on how many defensive backs Texas will sign with this class but the number seems to be somewhere in the area of 3-4. Davis becomes the first defensive back offered a scholarship to commit.
