GAME 1: Auburn 45 – Arkansas 21
This game was tied at 21 at halftime, then Auburn shutout the Hogs in the second half and scored the game’s final 24 points. The game was suspended for lightning early in the 4th quarter for 90 minutes with Auburn ahead by 2 touchdowns. Alex Collins rushed for 68 yards on 10 carries.
GAME 2: Arkansas 73 – Nicholls State 7
Arkansas scored on the game’s opening play, and their first five drives of the game, en route to 63 unanswered points. Alex Collins rushed for 143 yards and 3 touchdowns. Nicholls State finished 0-12.
GAME 3: Arkansas 49 – Texas Tech 28
Alex Collins rushed for 212 yards, and the Hogs gouged Tech for 438 rushing yards. Texas Tech kept the game close for three quarters, but eventually succumbed to the Hogs ground attack, allowing 14 points in the 4th quarter (the Red Raiders were scoreless in the final period).
GAME 4: Arkansas 52 – Northern Illinois 14
Arkansas scored in all three phases in the first 2 quarters and Alex Collins had 79 yards rushing. NIU had no answer for DE Trey Flowers. With a 28-7 lead at the half, Arkansas scored at least 21 points in the first half for the 4th straight game.
GAME 5: Texas A&M 35 – Arkansas 28 (in Arlington, TX at AT&T Stadium)
A&M won in overtime. Arkansas rushed for 285 yard with Alex Collins accounting for 131. Jonathan Williams (RB) scored his eighth TD of the season. The Hogs led 28-14 before the Aggies roared back to score the game’s final 21 points.
GAME 6: Alabama 14 – Arkansas 13
In the loss, the Hogs outgained the Tide in both rushing and passing yardage. The Arkansas defense held Alabama to 227 total yards. The one point difference in the game came off a blocked extra point in the 2nd quarter. The Crimson Tide only rushed for 66 yards and Arkansas forced 2 fumbles.
GAME 7: Georgia 45 – Arkansas 32
The Hogs staged a furious comeback, outscoring UGA 26-7 in the second half, but that last Bulldog touchdown added enough insurance to the early lead. Arkansas also outgained UGA in total yards on a strong day from quarterback Brandon Allen. Jonathan William led the backs with 108 yards. Arkansas lost two fumbles, threw two interceptions, and recovered two more of their own fumbles.
GAME 8: Arkansas 45 – UAB 17
This game was not as close as the score indicates. Arkansas dominated the first half, leading 35-0 at halftime. Jonathan Williams had 154 yards rushing, and 3 different rushers scored touchdowns. Arkansas also used a fake field goal for a touchdown.
GAME 9: Mississippi State 17 – Arkansas 10
Arkansas led 10-7 at halftime, and held Mississippi State 150 yards below their season rushing average & 25 points below their scoring average. MSU held Alex Collins and Jonathan William both under 100 yards rushing, and intercepted Arkansas in the end zone with 15 seconds left in the game.
GAME 10: Arkansas 17 – LSU 0
Arkansas held LSU to only 123 total yards. The Hogs had not beaten a ranked team since 2012 and the shutout of a conference team was their first one since 2002. Arkansas only gained 264 yards (Jonathan Williams led with 54 yards rushing). The star of the game was linebacker Martrell Spaight.
GAME 11: Arkansas 30 – Ole Miss 0
Ole Miss had six turnovers in the game. Arkansas led 17-0 after the first quarter and 27-0 after the 3rd quarter. Mississippi was sloppy and unfocused throughout the game, many saying their last second loss to Auburn affected them in this game.
GAME 12: Missouri 21 – Arkansas 14
Arkansas led 14-6 at halftime, and at the end of the 3rd quarter, but Missouri scored 15 fourth quarter points. The Tigers out-gained the Hogs on the ground and in passing. Missouri’s final two scoring drives, that secured the win, totaled 22 plays, 183 yards, and more than 16 minutes in time of possession.
