The Longhorn Network will be carried by the following providers, in addition to Verizon FiOS, which was announced on Thursday: Consolidated Communications, Bay City Cablevision, Mid-Coast Cablevision and Texas Mid-Gulf Cablevision. While this is still a very small percentage of the cable and satellite users in Texas, it is anticipated that the network will announce deals with TIme-Warner and Comcast prior to the Texas vs. Rice game next Saturday.  Notably the Central Texas area has yet to pick up a provider that will carry the game. Reports speculate that ESPN would like for Time Warner to carry the channel at no extra cost for basic cable providers.  We think this kicks butt!  Stay tuned for more information.
