Mack Brown seems to be in a groove today – in a good way. This morning it was announced that Penn State’s Anthony Fera would be transferring to Texas to handle the kicking duties and several hours later we learn that Coach Brown added his first recruit to the 2014 recruiting class in the form of Abilene Cooper’s Lorenzo Joe. Joe is a 6’2â€, 160 lb. WR that hauled in 48 receptions for 762 yards and 9 touchdowns for the Cougars last season.
Joe’s offer this early is surprising and breaks the traditional mold of Texas offering recruits during or after an official junior day visit. He attended the Texas camp earlier this summer and was apparently very high on the coaching staff’s list. Joe was offered a scholarship by Texas Tech after visiting Lubbock back in June.
