Texas defensive line coach Kenny Baker’s work paid dividends again on Saturday, as the Longhorns received an out-of-state commitment from mammoth defensive lineman Dylan Berymon. Berymon, a consensus 4-star prospect from Ouachita Parish High School in Monroe, Louisiana, visited Austin this weekend. He was expected to announce his school of choice in late July, but wasted no time in giving his pledge while visiting the 40 Acres.
The 6-2, 315 lb. Berymon is rated the 8th best player in the state of Louisiana and the 22nd best defensive lineman in the country according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings. He held offers from more than 30 programs including Oregon, USC, Texas A&M, Miami, Florida, Ole Miss and Purdue.
The Longhorns viewed Berymon as a priority recruit, and EDGE coach LaAllen Clark visited him in his home state last month.
Berymon becomes the 9th commit in Steve Sarkisian’s 2026 recruiting class, joining defensive back commit Hayward Howard Jr. as Louisiana prospects committed to the Longhorns.
