The No. 3 Texas Longhorns (12-1, 8-1 Big 12) finished their third practice of the week on Wednesday in preparation for their upcoming College Football Playoff game against the No. 2 Washington Huskies (13-0, 9-0 Pac-12) in the Sugar Bowl. At his National Signing Day press conference, head coach Steve Sarkisian mentioned the health of his team has improved. Specifially, he addressed the status of cornerback Ryan Watts, wide receiver Xavier Worthy and defensive back Austin Jordan.

Watts left the game after the first play in the regular season finale against Texas Tech with a back injury and hasn’t played since. Xavier Worthy sustained an ankle injury in the Longhorns’ 49-21 win over Oklahoma State in the Big 12 Championship Game, while defensive back Austin Jordan recorded one tackle in the Texas Tech game but suffered an undisclosed injury.

“Health-wise the coolest part for me was, all those guys were practicing today. All of them looked really good to me. Are they all quite 100%? I don’t know. But I know they looked fast, they were running around and that’s a real positive knowing we have still have two weeks ’till the ballgame,” said Sarkisian.

Everything was trending right relative to the injuries according to Sarkisian and he said that everyone should be available for the upcoming bowl game.
