The Texas Longhorns continue to stay hot on the recruiting trail as they added another five-star prospect to their list of commitments in the 2024 recruiting class. Xavier Filsaime (McKinney High School – McKinney, TX) had been committed to Billy Napier and the Florida Gators since April. He received an offer from Steve Sarkisian and the Longhorns on October 9th and made and unofficial visit to Austin last month. Texas pursued Filsaime diligently since extending the offer and the 6-1, 180 lb. safety took his official visit to The 40 Acres this past weekend. The news of his flip from the Gators to the Longhorns was announced via social media on Monday.
He becomes the fourth five-star commit in the Longhorns’ 2024 recruiting class, joining LB Colin Simmons, WR Ryan Wingo and OT Brandon Baker.
With Filsaime’s commitment the Longhorns moved up to #5 in 247Sports’ Composite Team Recruiting Rankings.
