The last time Texas and Arkansas met was in 2008 and resulted in the Longhorns handing the Razorbacks a punishing 52-10 loss in Austin. On Saturday, the Razorbacks returned to Texas and returned the favor.

Arkansas held the only score in the first quarter on a 32 yard field goal by Razorback placekicker Adam McFain.

In the second quarter Arkansas would take a 10-0 lead on a 36 yard touchdown pass from Brandon Allen to Demetrious Wilson. At the 8:13 mark, a bad exchange between Tyrone Swoopes and Johnathan Gray would cause a fumble which would be recovered in the Texas end zone by the Hogs’ Taiwan Johnson for a touchdown. The score would propel the Razorbacks to a 17-0 lead.

A struggling Texas offense would finally put points on the board when Tyrone Swoopes would scramble for a nine yard touchdown with four minutes remaining until halftime.

Allen would strike again just before the half, finding Keon Hatcher in the back of the end zone for six more points.

Arkansas would take a 24-7 lead into the locker room at half time.

Third quarter woes would strike the Longhorns again, and the Razorbacks for that matter, as both teams would would to put points on the board.

The Texas offense never made it into Arkansas territory in the fourth quarter, and Arkansas would add to its lead on a Jonathan Williams 1-yard touchdown run with 11:41 remaining.

On the final Texas possession of the game, Henre’ Toliver would return a Tyrone Swoopes interception for 46 yards to the Texas 33 yard line. After three consecutive rushes by Jonathan Williams which moved the Razorbacks to the Texas four yard line, Arkansas would take a knee and end the game.

Texas quarterback Tyrone Swoopes threw for 57 yards, his lowest total on the season, and would end the night with -32 yards rushing.
