http://www.bevoball.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/UTTT-300×238.jpgSaturday Morning the Longhorns and Red Raiders will renew their annual rivalry, this time in Austin. While the series is typically dominated by the Longhorns, much to the Raiders chagrin, this will continue to be the case this year.  Yes, I bleed burnt orange.  No, this is not an unbiased post.

The Red Raiders love nothing more than trying to beat the Longhorns when the opportunity presents itself.  However their chances to do so are few and far between.  They rarely accomplish the feat…and if they do it is typically off of some “lucky” or trick play.  It’s a long way from Lubbock to Austin, and really a long way home when you have been gored time and time again by the mighty Bevo.  Statistically both teams are actually pretty even this year as the Longhorns are rebuilding.  But folks it is hands down as the Longhorns have a more talented team from mascot to players.  Needless to say Coach Tuberfield is a journeyman coach while Mack is the cream of the crop.  The bottom line is the Longhorns have a more talented squad, better coaching and obviously a better group of fans. It will be a long road back to Lubbock from Austin for the Tech fans if they dare make the trip.  However, I am sure there are some Longhorn fans that are stuck living in Lubbock who will make the trip and actually enjoy it.

I look for nothing more than a runaway on the part of our beloved Longhorns.  This could be similar to the unmerciful beating they recently laid onKansas.  Yes, Tech does have some offensive prowess, but the Longhorn defense will completely shut them down. Texasis looking for bowl eligibility and intend to hang the Tech six shooter on the Longhorn trophy wall in the dressing room.

Tech might as well leave their beautiful black Stallion at home also.  Bevo may gore him if given the chance.

My heart goes out to Tech.  They actually see this game in their mind as a marquee matchup.  Duh? Texasis going to take them apart with raw and savage power.  If Tech really wants to make this a big time rivalry game, they are going to have to beatTexasmore than once every five or six years.  Let them hold their little six gun finger symbol in the air all they want.  They are going to be shooting blanks anyway.

Mack is well on the way to making our Horns bowl eligible and unfortunately Tech will have to pay the price.  The Mighty Bevo will reign.
