Not only does Mack Brown have the support of friend and boss DeLoss Dodds, University of Texas President Bill Powers came out today with resounding support of the Brown regime in Austin via his Tower Talk blog.

Now that the Longhorn football team has finished its regular season, there has been an increase in media speculation about Coach Mack Brown’s future. I’d like to state unequivocally that Coach Brown has my full support as well as the support of Men’s Athletics Director DeLoss Dodds. Put succinctly, Mack Brown is and will remain the Longhorns’ head football coach.

For all those that have lashed out on twitter, supported Mack on message boards or stuck pins in the voodoo doll you bought at Marie Laveau’s House of Voodoo on Bourbon Street… one thing looks certain:  Mack will be back.  The perceived upgrade of Gary Patterson and Randy Shannon for Mack Brown and Manny Diaz just ain’t happenin’ – at least not this post-season.

To add more fuel to the fire Powers closes his post with the following line:

I look forward to watching this young team win the Alamo Bowl and continue to grow in seasons to come.

Young?  This team has been “young” for 3 years now in the opinion of many.  The only reference to “Young” these folks want to hear better reference a man with the first name of Vince.  If Mack is the head coach next season he knows he needs to turn it around and produce or else Fletcher Christian will manifest himself in a multitude of ways, not on The Bounty but on The 40 Acres.
