The Texas Longhorns have officially entered the mix for one of the most explosive playmakers in the 2026 class. On Thursday, Waxahachie wide receiver Kohen Brown announced an offer from Texas, adding another major Power 4 school to his growing list.
Brown, who recently decommitted from USC, has quickly become one of the hottest names in the state this offseason. Since reopening his recruitment, the four-star wideout has picked up offers from Colorado, Notre Dame, and now Texas, who is clearly looking to make a push to keep in state talent in the Lone Star State.
Listed at 6-foot, 190 pounds, Brown is currently ranked No. 243 in the Rivals250 and the No. 34 overall prospect in Texas for the 2026 cycle. He’s coming off a breakout junior campaign in which he hauled in 54 receptions for 1,084 yards and 11 touchdowns, routinely showcasing his speed, ball-tracking ability, and knack for big plays. Brown also saw time at cornerback, showing off his versatility on both sides of the ball.
He continued his strong offseason with a standout performance at the Rivals Camp in Dallas, earning a coveted Gold Ball, awarded to top performers at the event. On the track, Brown has posted a 10.6 100m and a 22.39 200m this spring, confirming the elite speed that shows up on tape.
Texas has made wide receiver a priority in the 2026 cycle, and Brown’s blend of explosiveness, polish, and two-way ability makes him an intriguing option moving forward. With the Longhorns now officially in the race, this is one recruitment to watch closely as summer approaches.
