Rodney Terry and the University of Texas Men’s Basketball team will begin their 2024-2025 Southeastern Conference campaign ranked in the Top-20 nationally by the Associated Press (AP). Released on Monday, the AP Preseason College Basketball Poll sees the Longhorns ranked at No. 18.
Texas joins eight other SEC programs to be ranked in the Top 25, including Alabama (2), Auburn (11), Tennessee (12), Texas A&M (13), Arkansas (16), Florida (21), Kentucky (23) and Ole Miss (24).
The Longhorns have made the Round of 32 in the NCAA Tournament in each of the last three seasons. Last year they finished with a 21-13 overall record and lost to Tennessee and former Texas coach Rick Barnes in the Round of 32.
The ‘Horns will open the season on Monday, November 4 against the Ohio State Buckeyes as part of the Hall of Fame Series in Las Vegas.
