I attended the University of Texas from 1972 to 1974. I was by then married with two children and a veteran of US Army. Lack of dollars forced me to move back to north texas and finish my degree at North Texas but to this day, if you cut me, I bleed orange.

I got my love for the burnt orange from my mom. She never stepped foot on the campus and never saw a game in person, but it is fair to say she was the biggest fan I have known. She never got down or doubted the team and loves all the players equally.

She did go into a sort of morning when Darrell Royal stepped down. He had been her favorite and she wrote him letters back in the day when people took pen to paper. Coach Royal even sent her a letter thanking her for her support and included a signed picture with, “Thanks for the support Frannie.”

When my mom had her heart attack, my sister and I rushed to Marshall to be by her side. It happened on Thanksgiving day in 2008. When we arrived, she was weak but the first question she asked me if the Longhorns won.

Sadly she died a few weeks later, at the age of 81, and we buried her in her Longhorn attire, in a orange and white casket. That is the type of stock I come from.

My degree is in business, with a minor in accounting. I may from time to time post statistical pieces, but I will try and not be too boring.

Thanks to our leader, Commander Dude for allowing me this privilege of posting here and Hook Em Horns.
