Max Belyeu named Big 12 Player of the Year

Max Belyeu named Big 12 Player of the Year

The Big 12 Conference released the list of players making its All-Big 12 teams on Monday and the Longhorns had four players honored with First Team status. Headlining the Texas players was sophmore Max Belyeu, who was also named the Big 12 Player of the Year. Belyeu had a .341 batting average with 50 RBI’s and a team-leading 21 doubles.

Joining Belyeu on the All-Big 12 First Team were infielders Jalin Flores, Jared Thomas and closer Gage Boehm.

Landing on the All-Big 12 Second Team for the Longhorns was infielder Peyton Powell.

Honorable mentions for David Pierce’s team included Rylan Galvan, Max Grubbs, Ace Whitehead and Will Gasparino, who was also named the the Big 12 All-Freshman team.
