Worst performance ever by a UT quarterback in a big game?

Can't believe the stat line...

12 for 34 for 54 yards (1.6 ypa) and a quarterback ranking of 4.3???? 4.3??? Flat staggering.

I am trying to think of a worse performance than this in a game of some magnitude, but am coming up with NOTHING. This was an average defense at BEST...yes the weather was crappy, but PLEASE!!!!

Cannot wait till next season...ANY qb play has to be better (and more consistent) than what we saw this season!

Hookem!

he is one of the worst starters in college football history. i dont recall a QB this bad that has started as many games. He somehow beat Aggie and that will be what he is remembered for(positively). He is the worst QB i have ever witnessed at a Big time program.

Baylor had more yards catching Case McCoy passes than Texas WRs (60-54).

How quickly we forget the performance that Case delivered in October vs Oklahoma.....I'm willing to give him a pass on the performance...the QB position at UT comes with a heavy burden to bear

Very kind of you...Was on OB for nearly 10 years, but gave up my membership about a year ago (the off-topic BS and Ketch's unwillingness to reign it in turned me off 100%). I've enjoyed this forum very much!

I haven't forgotten that game. He played MUCH better in that game than he did yesterday, but PLEASE don't act like he played great in that game. There were at least 21 points left on the field due to his poor accuracy! Case is what he is and did HIS best...unfortunately HIS best is NOT up to what the University of Texas should be trotting out as a senior QB!

Basket Case McCoy has no business playing in division 1a in my opinion. I can wait a few years till next season when Mack Brown is out of Texas. I wouldn't underestimate Mack Brown's ability in churning out sub-sub-sub-third-rate quarterbacks. As unbelievably clownish as Case McCoy is, a worse QB is always possible under Mack Brown.

Chris Simms v. Colorado B12 cg

Major Applewhite v. Nebraska b12 cg

Chris Simms v. Oklahoma take your pick

Shannon Kelly v. Houston

Chris Simms Big 12 Championship game against Colorado might have been worse.
Chris Simms threw 4 interceptions in 20 minutes in that game, a record later equaled by Colt McCoy. Longhorn fans were collectively shouting for Applewhite, otherwise Mack Brown would probably have kept Simms on the field till the very end. There is a good reason why Mack Brown hasn't practically won any conference titles on his own in his 30+ years as a "coach". (Vince Young & Company gave him one in 2005. Luck plus a weak Big 12 conference gave him another in 2009.)

Bob Stoops got OU more conference titles in 4 years.

Don't blame him, it sucks to be held to the same standards of your family members. I blame Brown for thinking he could convert Case into his brother.

not at all, i remember some very good throws, very good. then i remember a pick 6 and a few bad throws. very bad. but that was his best game of the year by far.

Exactly. .. I agree that he was a below average qb, but will never be forgotten for the atm win.

What's funny is that if you watched Colt in HS and then Case, it was very easy to see Colt had a chance to be good at a D1 level and Case did not.

I actually had no issue with offering a borderline talent with connections and bloodlines like Case. In theory a high-character guy (not sure if that actually is the case after his being the "watcher", but that's another story obviously). In theory a scout teamer and a thank you to Brad and Colt.

I can't believe coach Brown or anyone EVER thought Case would see game action, much less start a dozen or so games. THAT is the real story...that the QB evaluation, development, preparation and planning are in the worst state in the last 20 years of the program.

System QB who took advantage of the opportunities secured by his brother. Cant blame him, but other than A&M and OU, he did nothing his entire career.
