And when I watch USA, I'll serve hamburgers and hot dogs paired with Deep Ellum's Dallas Blonde.

I will probably be getting day sweats about that time.

It is imperative we win Match One.

Sorry Black Stars, but you must fall.  We do get a break with them with Abdul Waris out injured, and Michael Essien hobbled. But they still have world-class players in Kevin-Prince Boateng, Kwadwo Asamoah and Sulley Muntari. Plus, they know they can beat us as they have knocked us our of the last 2 WCs. They have a lot of speed which can give us trouble, and they can score on offense. Their weaknes, however, is defense (they do give up goals) especially down either flank (hello Brad Davis).

Going back to World Cup 1998, when the tournament expanded to 32 teams and just two teams per group were able to advance, only nine percent of teams that lost their first World Cup game (4 of 46) advanced to the knockout stage.

Meanwhile, a tie in the first game was hardly a killer—56 percent of those teams (20 of 36) advanced from their group.

Whenever the Americans have lost their opening game, they have failed to advance (in 1934, 1950, 1990, 1998, 2006). Whenever the U.S. has gotten a result (tie or win) in the opening game, the team has made it to the next round (1930, 1994, 2002, 2010).

Anyone else excited about this? I watch EPL and La Liga sometimes but more interested when Champions League play.

Besides USA, I'm rooting for Spain and Argentina.

As many of you might know, I'm a foodie and love cooking. For Spain's match, I'm preparing paella and have Iberico jamon and premium anchivoes on hand. Pairing this with Rioja wine from Spain.

For the Argentina's match, I'm making a ribeye steak with chimichurri sauce, roasted potatoes, and pairing with an Argentine Malbec.
I am a Huge Arsenal fan, so I love soccer, I cannot wait till Kick off tomorrow. I am of course rooting for the US, but I have a soft spot for France, since Arsene Wenger is French and he is the manager for Arsenal, but I like to watch the Dutch, Germany, and Spain play as well.

This is Tally Hall, Dynamo goalie. He's referring to teammate Brad Davis who is in Brazil with the USMNT.

And the ratings do not include everyone who left work early and dipped into a bar to watch
