Why is everyone so worried about the timing of Macks retirment and the hiring of a new coach? The majority of the class is wrapped up. Will we have a few defections? SURE but who cares. A national name like Saban, with only a few weeks will get a few to flip back or flip from other teams. This happens every year. Every time a change is made a coach has a maximum of a month to get acclimated and recruit. Its always the same so I dont see why the timing is so important especially with respect to Saban. now, I guess the only question I would have is if Mack announces now, will more smoke about Saban emerge and thus kill the deal? Thoughts?

Two things:
1 - Because thre is still a desperate need for a majority of the fan base to know, 100%, without a doubt, the downward spiral is over
2 - The program isn't in a position where it can afford to lose half the class that late in the game. We arent in the toilet completely, but we cant afford a subpar 14 class.
