something key was mentioned on IT yesterday by their sources. UT will not let the head job be open for any length of time after Mack. The announcements will happen in close proximity. Mack will not step down until things are locked in with the next coach....so until Saban (or whatever) is finalized Mack is likely not going to announce something.

I work for a state agency and there is something to having to post jobs. Whether it applies to this sort of job, I couldn't speculate.
