Whew, Last Night!!!!

Gents,

To all those who showed, Thank You !!

If Alabama scrambled to put an extension before him in the past day or two, why? Seems like they are worried about a threat of us coming in and offering more. If that is true then why would our offer still not top their offer? If it turns into a bidding war why would we not win? Finally, why would someone stay at their present job if they could go elsewhere for more money, better location and potential for making history?

Hey Guys,
I had a great time last night. Maybe too good of a time?

So, I have heard about the call out threads on the other sites and read some here too. When you elect to share what you hear in a public forum you open yourself up for criticism. If Saban does not come to Texas I will be mad at me too:)

As of now, I'm not hearing anything has changed. We are still on in on Saban. Saban has had that extension for a while and has not signed it. Can you think of any reason why?
Great to hear you made it through the night and do you know all what you talked about last night. I think Saban will be loaned a pen to sign the Texas contract.

Another aspect to consider in regard to the proposed Alabama extension. If Saban has agreed in principal to an extension with Bama, that info would be leaked to every national media representative as soon as it happened (SI, ESPN, Fox, etc) including to the ultimate Alabama shill, Paul Feinbaum, and be followed very quickly by a PR outlining the terms and the agreement. To date, only some low level Bama twitter insiders and some insiders from Bama internet boards are claiming that an agreement is in place. Nothing is scrolling on ESPN as I type and Feinbaum's cachectic head is nowhere to be found on ESPN. These are all rumors at this point and nothing more. Just like Wednesday rumors were all pointing in the direction of Texas, today they are pointing at Bama. That is to be expected near the finish. The winds will switch direction daily until the end, but that does not mean that things have significantly changed.

So next HornSports Happy Hour, Porltand, OR? Who's in?

I just hope he's at Texas by next week.. I can't handle much more of this

If Saban comes to Tx. fantastic..... I appreciate all you guys that share what you are hearing....cause I don't have access an insider....don't really understand the bashing of those who share info

I guess I see what you do and what JS does as something different.

I see two people who are putting themselves into positions to learn certain things from certain, plugged in sources. Your value and interest is elevated because you share what you've heard with others, who are equally interested.

Whether Saban comes here or stays at Bama is not something I'm pinning on you or JS. Whatever happens, I'm sure you and JS will share with the rest of us, just like you've been doing all along.

If we go back to 1998, you and JS would be reporting that Gary Barnett is about to be hired. In the 11th hour, a change took place. And you'd be explaining to us who Mack Brown is.

Frankly, I'm very glad to have this info available from you and others like JS. But if for some reason it doesn't happen and something else does instead, I'm not mad at anyone over that. It's not like you were taking people's money on a bet you made or something. You simply shared what you hear. So, thank you regardless of where this ends.

Thanks for the great time guys. Those who didn't show up missed out!
qwanseeker - good to meet you last night and talk. appreciated the good conversation we had buddy! We will be doing this again soon in Houston!

So next HornSports Happy Hour, Porltand, OR? Who's in?
I'll make the trip from ATX
So we have 2. Step up boys.

Who's willing to brave the NW weather? 21.7 degrees right now, 5 degrees is the wind chill. Snow on the ground.

Although it will will be warming up next week. It should be a balmy 46 and rainy next Thursday.

We may have to schedule this in advance for all you that have to travel. :)

Hey 46 and rainy is typical Portland weather, not bad at all. Surprised you have snow.

Thanks Mark

Weren't supposed to have anything but some flurries, but about 5 AM it started coming down, and the front didn't drop as far south offshore as the weathermen predicted. Really dry/fluffy snow, not a ton of accumulation, but enough to snarl traffic for most of the morning.
The bitter cold is what's really out of the ordinary. Not supposed to get above freezing until Tuesday in Camas, and even then only up to 36.

We're a bit farther south, but everything you've described is existing in Dallas right now. Just replace the snow with sleet. We're not supposed to get above freezing until Wednesday. Until then, it's actually supposed to get colder.

Tomorrow, we get to go out in this and remove tree limbs that are falling left and right. The ice has so many of these trees just doubled over right now, it's sad. Oaks aren't supposed to bend the way they're being made to bend right now. To think they'll stay this way for a few more days, not good.

If you are up here in the ice and happen to be reading this - DO NOT try to knock ice off limbs. You will likely just break the limb.

So next HornSports Happy Hour, Porltand, OR? Who's in?
If the HornSports company jet is available to pick me up, I'll be there.
