This seems to be the biggest holdup right now. Some are pushing for the highest ranked team to host the game while others want the locations out for bid like the national championship game. Both sides have some valid points, there are concerns about fans having to travel a long way twice but there are also concerns about a team with a joke of a stadium like TCU potentially hosting a semifinal game.
I read a great idea from a guy on Twitter and wanted to see what all of you think.
Each conference should have to select a designated stadium for its teams to host semifinal playoff games. The Big12 could go with Cowboys stadium, the SEC could go with the Georgia dome, the Pac 12 could go with the Rose Bowl, the Big10 could go with Lucas Oil field in Indy and the ACC could play in whatever the hell the Dolphins are calling their stadium now. This plan cuts down on travel costs to some degree, give some degree of a home field advantage to the higher ranked team and assures everyone that the hosting stadium and the hosting town has the amenities and infrastructure to do things right.
What say all of you?
