Whats your name, and where you from?

My name is Jeffrey and I am from Athens Tx but now live in Tyler Tx. I went to UT after high school and found that I liked to party and drink more than I liked to go to classes! Later in life I earned my B.B.A. and M.B.A. from LeTourneau University and I married and converted a former aggie. This used to be a fun time of year since all of my family went to UT and all her family are aggies and I never let them forget Texas 27, Texas A&M 25. I love this site and I appreciate all that you do for us horn fans!

My name is Jeff. I grew up in Houston & Arlington; spent 5 glorious years at UT in the late 80's.

I now live in Camas, Washington. Big Mike was honored to hang out with me in Pittsburgh a few weeks back. Good times.

Hook Em!!

Love all things Texas and bleed Burnt Orange even though they snubbed me.

Name is Jim Raup. I am from Austin (my Mother's family came here in 1835). Current lawyer, and former HS coach. Coached Roosevelt Leaks at Brenham and Matt Belisle at McCallum. Matt is a major league pitcher with the Rockies. Played baseball at UT under Falk and coached one year with Gustafson.

I have a 5 year old daughter who means the world to me. I manage a compliance auditing department for a finance company. I balled burnt orange even though I never attended UT, Hook em!

I too am quite late to the thread...name is Kevin. Longtime lurker on OB and recent lurker here...no kidding!! (see post count...lol). I followed McPhaul over here from OB...always enjoyed reading his posts there and was looking for a reason to not spend as much time there..so easy decision to make the move here. Not been disappointed either...great info, great atmosphere.

Born and raised Austinite married to a born and raised Austinite...33 years and counting. Yep, we are a very rare breed...not many of us native Austinite couples still around...live in Austin area (Lakeway/The Hills). Attended UT in early 70's and as young boy I was selling cokes in Memorial Stadium (dad was sales manager of Coca-Cola and responsible for signing-up all the hustlers on game day so when I was big enough to carry a tray of 12 cups of cokes it was time for me to go to work...lol). It was great though, I got to watch the likes of Chris Gilbert, Marvin Kristynik, Tommy Nobis, etc. as I navigated those steep steps of the stadium shouting "Cokes, get your cokes here!" I collected discarded football programs after every game over the years I sold cokes until mom finally made me clean out my closet because there were so many that every time she opened the door she was welcomed to a tidal wave of UT programs with some clever Ben Sargent illustration gracing the cover....ahhh, such wonderful memories. I guess it's quite obvious I'm a die-hard, life-long Longhorn fan...Hook 'em! Sorry, for the long post...got a bit carried away.

My name is Jim been married to Deb for 47 years and we live in League City. My wife and I have 3 children and they are married so we have 6 grandkids.

I am a retired plant operator. I can't spell for crap but say it the way I see it. I never went to Texas seen my first game in 1957 I was 10 years old. I love to fish and 2014 is is the year I will return to Alaska for some Salmon fishing. Year before last I brought back about 300 pounds of fish. When it comes to putting up my fish Deb and I do our own canning and smoking.

I felt sorry for Reverent Horn and joeywa so I taught them everything they know about fishing. :) My friends y'all have a great weekend.

Born and raised in Austin, saw my first Longhorn game at 5 days old on the way home from being born at the old St. David's Hospital (hadn't even been home yet and got to see us destroy the Piggies, 44-7). Fulfilled my childhood dream of playing football and lettering under Coach Royal in the early '70s after spending many of my formative years as a ballboy (and batboy for baseball) and helping in the equipment room. Earning a scholarship to go to school and play football for Texas was an unbelievable honor and a period of my life I'll always cherish.

Over the 40 years since those treasured times wearing the Longhorn uniform, I made a few attempts at the NFL (I was in more training camps than Gatorade) and played a little minor-league ball. Enjoyed many years as a high school and college football official and spent several years as a coach at the junior high and high school levels, college, and a couple of professional leagues.

Many of the screen names I'm seeing here are very familiar from my days on other sites under a different name. Since my wife and I try to spend as much time as possible in Key West, I decided to change my on-screen handle to something that reflected my desire to eventually become a full time denizen of "The Conch Republic". During our visits there, we've encountered Coach Leach on many occasions and had some great discussions regarding just about everything...except football :P !

Looking forward to becoming a part of this board; Hook 'Em!

I'm from Big Spring. Notice I said "from."

Gotta get back there in the next month to check on our land out by Cahoma and speak to Landman about it. Heard you can't get a room, not even the new Settles.

I go by JC. From the valley...lived in Seattle, then St. Louis, and now back to the valley to be closer to my family.

Nice participation here. Bill - originally from Amarillo and living in Austin. My career has been in advertising and marketing. I remember seeing Earl a lot at the school of communications. First guy I ever met who looked like he was wearing pads under his street clothes. Nice guy too.

I am really enjoying this site. My name is Chris and I am originally from Orange, TX. Been in the Austin area since 2003 and graduated from UT in 2007. I have been a lurker of various sites over the years and am posting for the first time anywhere. Thanks for all the info guys.

Grew up near Dallas

Ut in late 60's early 70's

Medical School at UT Southwestern

Internship, then Residency at Parkland in Dallas

In private practice in Plano since 1980

I have delivered 5500 babies, done thousands of surgical procedures and been threw a divorce, thank goodness it was 20 or so yrs ago

Am happily married to a wonderful women

Have 2 great daughters and have a troubled stepson

Have followed UT since the late 50's when my uncle was the first from our family to go to college

My father was a plumber and he taught me the trade, I wan't a very good plumber but i was smart enough to know I didn't want to do that the rest of my life. With the way medicine is now, it looks as if i would have been better of had I stuck to plumbing, oh well.

Hoping to some day get retired so I can have some time to travel and enjoy life, maybe even make a few football games

I enjoy this site because it shows me I'm not the only neurotic Horn fan

Well I've been on this wonderful site for almost a month, so I suppose I should get on this.

My name is Blake and I'm from Fort Worth. I grew up in Stephenville, was taught most of what I know about football by Art Briles. My father taught me about three things when I first learned to talk: Hard Work, Good Family and Texas Longhorn football. I met Mack Brown in 2005 and had an amazing thirty minute discussion about all things, life and sports, when he was recruiting Jevan Snead. I've been a Longhorn fan since birth but I truly fell in love in 1999 when I saw how the Longhorn band's tribute moved the Aggies I was watching the game with. I've been to several Longhorn games but surprisingly, only one at DKR.

Now I live in Fort Worth where I work a full time job in the Financial world, part time as a Photographer and fill the rest of my time following the Rangers, Cowboys and Longhorns. And I'm happy to be here.

I reside deep in the Pineywoods of East Texas, but consider the Hill Country my second home. My late father was a WWII vet and schooled on the 40 when DX Bible was coach and names like Bobby Layne and Tom Landry graced the gridiron. Saw my first game when Earl Campbell was rolling over opponents like a bowling ball strikes pins. Spent many a day on the 40 in the mid to late 80s and remember well the likes of Eric Metcalf & Britt Hager. At my house, it's God, Family and Longhorns! Hook Em!
