What is the reality of 6-7?

y'all know people tailgate all day and smuggle booze into dkr and are shit faced drunk too, right ?
st
stp, that is the old-fashioned way. At least, those folks have a limit on the quantity of alcohol, or, they leave. Fine with me either way.

Don't know if you were at the game, but it was much worse at nrg.

Randolph, how many games do you attend each year? I'm curious.

I think you are very knowledgeable, but I wonder why you write with such authority. There is a serious liability issue at play here, and it would seem that caution is the wise course of action. Your great unwashed masses argument is simplistic, at best. I've been in the Club Section & not many minors are there, making it easy to check id's. I've never been in one of the Suites, but it would seem that alcohol served there is the responsibility of the suite holder. Those are two entirely different situations.

I've said what I have to say. Thank you for listening. Later.

I will make about three games a year.
I understand the liability issue, but if it is one SMU, West Virginia and about 20 other football programs can manage, I dare say someone at Texas could also solve the problems.

The real problem with Texas athletics is there is a facities guy in charge of marketing the program. Zero creativity, zero innovation and so far zero effort in improving the game day environment. Patterson can offer whatever excuses anyone can think of, but the fact remains ticket sales are at the lowest since the last round of stadium expansion, for the first time in over two decades Texas failed to sell out at least one home game and next year is looking to be worse. I saw the questionaire asking if people were willing to spend what looks to be $50/ person just for a "Grove like" tailgate spot, a tent and a cooler. This is clearly not marketed toward the demographic that is most important long term and most underrepresented at the moment (young alumni).

The lazy man's strategy would be to keep the 30,000 west side old time alumni happy and to continue to ignore the rest of the fans, but demographics dictate that strategy will fail long term, because it almost ensures the program will lose a generation of season ticket holders and a generation of program donors. I have heard of no plan designed to draw recent grads and young alumni into the ranks of season ticket holders. They are the future of the program and just as every generation, they will want changes in the amenities they are offered. However, they don't seem to fit in Patterson's priorities which is to find funding for endowing scholarships and facilities upgrades.

I understand Coach Strong's plan for rebuilding the program. I don't understand why Patterson isn't rebuilding and upgrading the staff inside Bellmont and seeking to reinvigorate the fan base at the same time so that when one aspect of the program is in place, the others are also. I rag on Patterson a lot, but so far, it seems justified. He was allowed to essentially redshirt as a first year AD to "grow into the position." Just as it is legitimate to discuss the failures of Coach Strong's team, it is legitimate to discuss the other aspects of the program. Coach Strong's team and even Tyrone Swoopes far outperformed Steve Patterson in the past year. The team is making progress, albeit frustrating. Outside Randa Ryan, Bellmont as a whole isn't.

Malik Jefferson: Texas sucks right now.

Kai Locksley tweet yesterday: Yoo Texas Defense is straps.. They just need offense, badly..
