lsampson - please forgive me for hi-jacking your thread. I just have a few passions - beautiful music and Jackie Evancho are a couple.
By-the-way, for those on here that think I am a classical music snob - I am far from it. But I am a fan of good music and the talent that performs it. I'm a blues fan as well - who doesn't like T-Bone Walker, Muddy Waters, John Lee Hooker, Lead Belly and Stevie Ray Vaughn?

lots of us thank you for hijacking that thread.

Next up is True Grit. Prepare to have your minds dazzled by my in-depth review.
Go Casablanca after that if you haven't already seen it. Give us your toxic avenger rating of it.

"too many references to WWII i didn't understand. Plus it was in black-and-white. Didn't like it"

It's been about 10 years since I've seen it, but I'll gladly give my review of that piece. Here's a little hint on my thoughts: the old guys won't like what I have to say.

No they won't. It was a chick flick anyway. I preferred "The African Queen" - if you are into dredging up Humphrey Bogart films.

The oldest film that I actually liked was Last of the Mohicans. That was in 1992.

Lukas, just a fair warning. In college we were tasked with writing a paper on a film we believed to be under appreciated and explain why. The professor said we obviously should choose a lessor known movie if we wanted a good grade. He then said choosing Citizen Kane would guarantee no better than a D for example.

I said "damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead" and chose Casablanca. I went all Lieutenant Colonel Frank Slade on the paper. It was supposed to be only three pages long and that was how long mine was. However, my appendix was thirty pages.

I got one of three "A"s on the paper.

So go ahead and rip Casablanca. Do so at your peril. Be sure and prepare you anus.
