Don't let facts deter you.
Don't make me compile a list of horrible movies that won a boatload of awards. Breakfast at Tiffany's isn't terrible, but it's definitely overrated, and apparently over-awarded too.

Nothing to do with haters.

Has all to do with your movie critic skills are on par with your football observation skills.

Two movies you need to see;

Dumb and Dumber;

Clueless and Clueless

...with the wife.
What an awful movie. Aside from the blatant racism featuring Mickey Rooney playing the oriental landlord, there wasn't much to like about the movie. Yes, Hepburn was very pretty, but she was basically as thick as a toothpick and had the voice of a 65 year old lady with emphysema.

Now on to the plot of the movie: two prostitutes, one male and one female, basically fall in love while living next to each other in an apartment building. Of course, the woman is hesitant to leave the comfort of her gold digger lifestyle, but relents at the end of the movie. Did I miss something? There wasn't much else aside from the painful last scene where the two main characters kiss in a badly set rainstorm in a New York alleyway while looking for a cat the crazy Hepburn threw out of the cab.

The movie wasn't even good.

Should've watched "Ten Things I Hate About You".
You just now watched it? Better late than never, I guess. :)

The song is one of my favorites!
Mine too and only Celine could sing that song. I take that back - the angel from heaven, Jackie Evancho, sang it pretty well too. If any of you, that don't listen to rap and garage screeching and actually have a musical ear, want to be stunned by a creature not of this earth - listen to u-tubes of Jackies voice.

She was 11 years old when she sang this and she dedicated the song to the 20 babies that were murdered in Connecticut. Her comment was "I am heartbroken".

She will bring tears to your eyes and make a grown man weak in the knees.

Loved it!

LOL - she is super-natural. This moment, when she sang "The Lords Prayer" was one of her virtuoso performances. I have listened to this over a hundred times and it affects me the same way, every time.

Another virtuoso performance, IMO, was the following:

Now, remember, she is only 11 years old and she was singing in a a foreign language - perfectly. Nessun Dorma was written for male Italian singers and a little girl, like Jackie, was not supposed to be able to master it. Jackie winds up owning it!

No doubt she is a musical genius, but she is Americana personified as well. She comes from a grounded Pittsburg family that is the epitome of the average American family.

As you can tell, I have been smitten by her. My wife and I have been to three live performances and I have all her albums. As David Foster said "I have never seen anything like this".

I think half of Lukas' reviews will be summed up with:

tl;dw (Too long didn't watch)

Nessun Dorma is my all-time favorite song. wow, she nailed it.

that little girl hit the internet when she was six or seven and has been doing it that well for that long. she's amazing. lot's of you tubes that go way back. she sang Ave Maria when she was six or seven and it blew me away. i hope success doesn't ruin her the way it has so many talented kids.

So true. But her voice didn't start to gain real strength until she was around 9 - 10. Like David foster said "It's hard to take an 8 year old seriously".

Ave Maria is one of the most difficult songs to sing - for an adult, much less an 11 year old.

Do you think your 11 year old could do this? For that matter, what 11 year old could?

lsampson - please forgive me for hi-jacking your thread. I just have a few passions - beautiful music and Jackie Evancho are a couple.

By-the-way, for those on here that think I am a classical music snob - I am far from it. But I am a fan of good music and the talent that performs it. I'm a blues fan as well - who doesn't like T-Bone Walker, Muddy Waters, John Lee Hooker, Lead Belly and Stevie Ray Vaughn?
