Per ESPN: Supposed to be Pac12s highest paid coach.

Bryan Harsin expected to be the first interview to replace him.

I feel like Washington made a mistake on this one. Peterson is a fine coach but I would have grabbed Nussmeier if I had the opportunity.

Smart move by Peterson. His success at Boise is not what it used to be because PAC 12 teams are taking his recruits. Oregon State, Washington State, and Utah are taking his recruits. He isnt having that success anymore. He needs to take that job or in 2 years Harsin will be taking his job.

So I'm guessing Harsin comes back to Boise, leaving Ark State open.

Is Applewhite in line for that job?

It's funny that of all of the jobs Peterson reportedly could have had over the years, it ends up being Washington.

No kidding. Go figure but it's not too far from his comfort zone so maybe it makes sense. Don't know why Major would be considered for Arkie St.

I understand...but after last year, I didn't think Harsin had done a good enough job to be considered for a HC job either.

Me neither so I guess anything is possible.

Saw that Dirk Koetter could also be contacted about returning to Boise.

Have to think Washington won that round of coaching moves. Lose Sarkisian to a conference rival and gain Petersen who I think is a better coach than SS anyway.

Good hire for the Huskies, I think Boise has plateaued especially with Petersen leaving. They will be a solid program in the MWC but they wont be the dominant program they had been. Talk about their football program getting the jump to a power conference will subside, and they will become another SDSU or Fresno State where they will not inspire the fear in scheduling that they had in the past. Solid program but still a mid major.

Does Peterson go the way of Dirk Koetter at ASU and Dan Hawkins at Colorado? Koetter was 26-10 at Boise and went 40-34 at ASU, while Hawkins was 53-11 at Boise and 19-39 with the Buffs.
