UIL Realignment: Texas Has a New 6A Classification

Looks like they just made big 5A to 6A

smaller 5A & large 4A stayed 5A & went to 5A

so on & so on

Ok so I am still 5A "got it".

It's not really "new" but rather it's just a "renaming".

6A in Texas is now just 5A.

The UIL has no balls. If they did, they would really do a realignment and actually create a 6A.

Not happy about my hometown. .. A small 4 a school having to drive over 250 miles for for 3 of the four teams... who does this?

They made 6-man football 1A and then all the classifications moved up one, 1A became 2A, 2A became 3A, and so on. So technically there are no "new" classifications. They just changed the numbering system.

In related news, aggy just figured out how they could claim another 37 recruiting championships. Whoooooop!

I wish I could have come up with "THAT". So you are saying they had a lot of 5 stars and 6 stars. OK did I do this right.

Well, there was definitely some shuffling going on. Look at what happened to Lewisville (below). The UIL must hate Lewisville. They take them from a district with Coppell, Denton Ryan, Hebron and now put them in one even tougher.

District 6-6A

Allen

Lewisville

Lewisville Flower Mound

Lewisville Hebron

Lewisville Marcus

McKinney Boyd

Plano

Plano East

Plano West

McKinney Boyd has been on Lewisville's OOC schedule for the past two years and has throttled us each time. Allen is Allen. Marcus, the Plano schools, arrgghh.

Another tough district, this time in 5A

District 10

Denison

Lucas Lovejoy

McKinney

McKinney North

Prosper

Sherman

Wylie

Wylie East

Longview drops to 5A.

District 15

Greenville

Hallsville

Longview

Longview Pine Tree

Marshall

Mount Pleasant

Sulphur Springs

Texarkana Texas

WOW!

District 16

Corsicana

Ennis

Jacksonville

Lindale

Lufkin

Nacogdoches

John Tyler

Whitehouse

Which school?

My school (now "4A") is now shipped to Region 1. We are traditionally a Class 3A-Region II school. It's been that way forever, except for a 2 year stint in Region I in the early to mid 2000s.

Whoa! Spring Branch Memorial moved out of Katy's distinct. Bet they're celebrating.

Here's the "District of Doom", 7-6A, with three state title contenders!

Colleyville Heritage

Coppell

Euless Trinity

Haltom City Haltom

Hurst Bell

NRH Richland

Southlake Carroll

Having to drive further to north Houston to play Aldine schools isn't cause for celebration. Yuck

You're right. Additionally, they will be playing some schools from from pretty tough neighborhoods. There's a big difference between venturing into Cinco Ranch rather than Gunspoint, er Greenspoint.

Wow, that is some serious driving. You'll have to cross through Oklahoma to get to Perryton. Dalhart is a long drive for a playoff game, much less a district game. Wonder if they'll consider neutral site games?

And they called them National Championships and put them up on the wall.

Jesus.

My school is Gainesville. We got off relatively easy, I think.
