According to a tweet from 790 radio out of Houston, the University of Houston gets an offer from the Big East to join. As a Houstonian I am happy that the 'Cougs got the invite but damn they will be travelling a ways away to play these teams on the road. Kevin Sumlin is a good coach but I am not sure how this will help recruiting.

Happy as hell that the Cougars are in a BCS conference now! They deserve it - Keenum is a stud and Kevin Sumlin is a damn good coach. Go COUGS!

Glad to see them getting a bump up in conference. Also glad they weren't invited to the Big 12.

I went to the Shriners All American game several years ago at the Cougs stadium. I was far less than impressed. I couldn't believe that was a D1 college stadium.

The argument with the University of Houston is that it is a commuter school and cannot pack Robertson, which is really old and out of date. They absolutely need a new stadium if they are going to compete with the big boys. The Big East has quickly turned from an ok conference into a stepchild. At least the Cougars will have their shot at a BCS game...
