I've been trying to follow the Ketch stuff in between the Winston story and I just don't see how he thinks this is ok. If I went on and copied and pasted his War Room on this site I guarantee you he'd be emailing me and mcphaul and cancelling my sub over there in a heartbeat.

Obviously it's good publicity for IT to be mentioned in the story, but Travis did not have to copy and paste from a chat. He could have written the story and posted it without using pay site information without any problems at all. We do things like that on this site all the time. There are ways to talk about something without plagiarizing. Everyone who has taken an English class at some time in their life and had to write a simple research paper has done so.

As it pertains to Ketchum, he's confident in his product and I believe last night claimed 20,000 subscribers. If true, I dont think a guy who is grossing (again allegedly) over $2 million a year cares what IT things or what happens to them. We arent even a blip on his radar for the most part.

1) Even if OB's breaks the official news, it won't matter. IT was way ahead of this story than anyone from the get go and all parties will know that.

Chats are actually a pretty sketchy area, legally speaking. It is technically a two (or more) way conversation done electronically. A game company that I moderated for, several years back, actually tried to sue for copyright infringement / fair use. They ended up losing the case because of the "electronic" communication and leveraged a similar law in Texas for the one party consent. Now the obvious way to get around this is to have an agreement when joining the chat regarding the use of the content in the chat. Not knowing how IT has theirs setup and/or the agreements, I can't really talk to this incident directly and I am not a lawyer so this is just something I have seen. It is just not as cut and dry as it may be seen.

Saying that though, doing what Clay did as a "professional" is very low ball. Not that I had any respect for the guy, doing something like this is BS. I was a bit shocked Ketch jumped into that fire. Pissing matches are never a good thing to get in the middle of.

Hence my dislike of Ketch. He once did the exact same thing to my little site, stating we copy and pasted his War Room verbatim. Which didn't happen, and he couldn't prove either. I called his bluff.

I am completely shocked that Ketch "outed" Jesus Shuttlesworth. That is so inappropriate. His reasoning was that he thinks it's time he start posting under ____________. Wow. I recently had an issue with Ketch, but to his credit, he was good about making up for it. That, however, is a low blow.
