Tubby was officially hired by TTU on Monday but I think the hire was a good one for the Red Raiders. Smith has final four experience ---- something only two other current Big 12 coaches have (Rick Barnes and Bill Self). I don't think Tech is the school you go to if you want to win a basketball title but Tubby is an excellent hire. He should elevate the status of the Red Raider Program and make them more appealing for recruits.
