Top Student Sections per ESPN

UT students have never (I go back to the 50s in attending games) supported basketball or baseball in large numbers.

so baylor is #2 in the big 12 largely on the strength of selling out the final game at floyd casey with the big 12 title on the line ? BFD. oh, and 'they've rushed the field 4 times...'

whether we deserve to be listed or not, the author's reasoning for who he does list isn't very convincing.

Texas has the worst Football Stadium Set Up IMO, I do not think our Stadium is that intimidating to opponents

any athlete worth his salt is not intimidated by crowds. they get tuned out.

Baylors student sections : sections 14-18.

Texas student sections: 13, 17, 34-35, endzone, 44, 51 etc

Consolidate the students!

Yea but a team together could lose confidence. I agree with what both of you are saying.

The 2005 Texas Football Team is probably the best college football team to take the field, when they played at the Horse Shoe, you could tell they were rattled by the crowd at different points of the game, so the crowd can play a huge role in a game

Sadly, Texas is not even in the top 5 in the Big 12 Conference.

I seem to remember when I was a student in the 80's, we had the whole east side of the stadium. Is that not true anymore (at least the lower, original stands)?

You go boy!!!

This had to get Patterson's attention, agree? He must have been made aware. No doubt someone there follows all our players.

Thus, Steve has or will see it.

Further, everything he said, most of us have thought and/or said at some point, over the years.

The difference?

He is a current player. A starter. His words ring much louder.

Not a twitter/tweeting guy but high five to Quandre the giant! Is that how twitter works? Can all of those comments be compressed to one message? Sorry, getting off topic. Students arriving late to DKR seems to be a consistent problem. When I was in school students drew decent seats, not great, on the east side. A lot of students downing drinks prior to entry. Of course the product on the field was not good in the early 90's during the end of the McWilliams era and the macovic yrs. I think the free for all general seating would be great and increase student involvement and attendance.

No, twitter has a character limit, so each one of those is separate. You can see the times at the bottom of each one.

I hope this kicks off a larger discussion of the topic.

We have heard it before. Remember when Barnes first got to Austin? He tried to reconfigure the seating, but had only minor success. it's something that get talked about but never really fixed. And we all know why. Even Diggs knows why and he hasnt even been in Austin that long.

But really all we can do is let Patterson here from us and hope he listens.

Students now have the S-EZ, from the east side 50 to the NE-EZ, and part of the East deck. Problem is that tickets are by number of hours completed which means that grad students don't get the best seats but are only second to seniors so they get from the 25-15 yard line. Most don't cheer. And there's blue-hairs on the other side of the 50 to the visitors section.

First-come first-served for the whole east side (other than the visitor's section) would be great.

The seats at the Erwin center have crept closer to the court over the years. Got rid of some of the long press tables in the front row and got some court side seats in play. I think every small town media outlet signed up for a press pass during those years, some sketchy looking folks used to occupy the press table during penders era through the early Barnes era.

Do you think the problem is student section seating configurations at DKR or maybe we have a problem like UCLA, a school with diverse intellectuals who would rather spend their weekends in a great city doing other activities?

I found this funny. USC has always been known for: University of Spoiled Children. But just heard this one today: UCLA = University of Caucasians Lost amongst Asians. :)

As a current student, I argue both as well as there is no incentive to get there on time. Greek life gets there halfway through the first and is so drunk that it doesn't matter what they cheer about. Those in the Greek community that do care, get there around kickoff and are loud. There needs to be some sort of incentive to getting there early and staying to the end, as bad as that sounds.
