Top 3 coaching candidates?

Meyer is a cool thing to think about, but hes got his own empire up there, and the rest of the teams will never be able to match his speed.
I'n not a big fan of Meyer at all (OK, I think he's an asswipe dick munch) but he didn't exactly leave the cupboards stocked like many thought when he left UF, which is the main reason I think he left there in the first place.

We are all in on Saban. Shaw is happy at Stanford. Right now there is not much interest in Strong. No one can put any dates on any of this right now.
The scenario we need to watch out for is losing Briles to aggy if/when Sumlin bolts. aggy is trying like hell to wrap Briles up.

If the Saban deal falls through, Muschamp could be the front runner by default. That is why I think they are going to be other candidates we have not talked a lot about.
Smart move by Aggie. We need to let Briles know we are at least interested, just in case.

I feel like these are the homeruns:
Saban, Tomlin, Briles - We know each one can win and recruit. (Though if there is a blank check for assistants you better damn well recruit)
Sell me on Tomlin's recruiting experience.

Tell me who his assistants will be. But honestly, the guy is the "Sumlin" type these kids love and he has far more street cred.

I do not want Muschamp as HC. I think we dodged a bullet (although there is something to be said for him completely changing universities versus staying and keeping Akina/Major combo). We can do better IMO

Everything I've read concerning Briles is that he pretty much dislikes Texas quite a bit. Not sure if that is accurate or not but supposedly he isn't fond of us. Not sure if he'd have any interest in leaving Baylor for the Shitsville Sheep Humpers either. This is the first time I've really seen his name tied to shitsville in any way.
Muschamp is losing some luster on his name, no doubt.
I thought that Briles disliked Mack more than he dislikes Texas.

And if you're Briles why would you want to leave Baylor right now? He's getting paid good and can do whatever he wants there because they think of him as their savior. If he wins the Big 12 this year he'll be bigger than Teaff.

No doubt that Briles is happy at Baylor but we could double his salary and more in a heartbeat. Lots more exposure at Texas than Baylor as well.

1) Sean Peyton

2) Nick Saban (haha - just realized I had spelled his name wrong on several previous posts.)

3) Mike Tomlin

This is not in order of realistic probability rather personal preference, ie wish list.

Tomlin as a coach could work great with some good assistants that know the recruiting game. His personality is great.

Mack started trolling this site and liked that u misspelled Saban's name.

Hi, son, Mr & Mrs. 5-star recruit's parents. I'm Mike Tomlin. These are my Super Bowl rings... That one says Steelers... and that one Buccaneers. I plan to add NC rings to the other hand and I want your son to help me.

Would you be interested?

Unknown 50% - who does Oliver Luck like? Just feel like it's going to be someone under the radar

Saban 30%

Shaw 20%

boom!

Briles: Would be my top choice. I just love the offense he coaches. He is as good of talent evaluator and teacher as there is. Give him the resources to hire a big time DC and Texas could be rolling. Bottom line he's a winner. Even though he runs a modern offense he has always struck me as a old fashion hard nosed coach.

Saban: Would have to be on the list although he concerns me as borderline dirty. Talent evaluation, Xs and Os and overall running of the program is top notch without a doubt. I just have a hard time getting over the feeling he is a snake in the grass.

Tomlin: He is intriguing but I feel he could be a huge gamble as whether he can succeed at the college level. Can he teach? NFL coaches do not have to teach fundamentals. They draft the best the world has to offer.

Fedora: Would be someone on my list. I realize he hasn't won at a big time level yet and may not if he stays at UNC. However he has UNC playing pretty good right now and they seem to be improving. What he did at S. Miss needs to be considered. S. Miss hasn't won but a couple of games since Fedora left for UNC two years ago. I think he would surprise a lot of people with the talent that would be available for Texas. He strikes me as a younger Briles. Not that it means anything but his little brother has been a badass at Navasota and before that Rogers.

Once again all of this speculation depends on the AD hire. If luck is hired, expect a blockbuster name... Personally my list will probably fall along this...

1. Saban - why not, hottest man on the market

2. Does it matter... High speculation could lead to many broken football hearts... Saban or bust

North Carolina is 1-5 and dead last in the ACC.
