Let's suppose just for a moment that with this spectacular win against 8th ranked Baylor, that the Powers that be become too week kneed to let CS go after 3 years.  What is the best case scenario in this circumstance?  Here is mine:

  1. Give CS the proverbial "blank check" that John Macovick received to hire a Defensive Coordinator.  With the provision that he may not hire his own WR Coach like Macovick did (after a nationwide search).
  2. Let DB Coach go for lack of production.  Hire Jerry Gray (or another proven DB Coach when Gray says "no").  Remind Strong that we are "The" University of Texas and don't necessarily have to go to the waiver wire of other colleges to find replacement coaches.
  3. Give CS an unlimited budget for he and his coaching staff to attend Special Teams Clinics.  Make it mandatory that they attend the day that covers when Returners should not bring the ball out of the end zone.
  4. Rewrite CS's contract making it terminate immediately if a roster is printed out that does not include a scholarship kicker and punter.
  5. Also write into his contract that as long as he is on the roster, Kris Boyd may not be benched... no matter how many dumb things he does.  Dude is electric!
If these five simple bullet points are covered, I might feel a little better about the direction of our program going forward with Coach Strong.

Strong can't even manage the clock.

Find some new "powers that be".

Here in Austin this weekend and several comments on the radio was how excited Perrin was with this win as he stood by Charlie giving him a big hug and wearing a smile as wide as the state of Texas. I have no clue as to what to make of all of this, but I knew that a victory would reinforce many that Charlie should be given a 4th year. I am starting to think that Perrin is looking for any positive to be able to do just that.  Get seven wins and then look to bring in a Defensive Coordinator as they did last year with the offense maybe what Mike is thinking who knows.

Boy, oh boy, I hope this information doesn't spoil the Pity party for all you negative Nellies.....Texas Won The Ballgame

Sorry for the downer.

I'm just the messenger.

We wont make it to 6 wins. Tech will blow the top off our defense.
I talked to a Tech grad today and I told him that we haven't won a game on the road this year.

He said Foreman is going to tear a hole on Tech. Well Chris Warren got I believe 275 yards against them last year.

Every game left on the schedule is winnable. Every game left on the schedule is losable.

With the talent on this team and the schedule we had, Texas should have won no less than 9 games this year and winning 10 was doable.

To have not won at least 9 games is on the head coach and coaching staff. Charlie will prove to be a good coach but never a great coach.

That's why I make a change and the first calls go to Saban, Meyer, and Herman in that order. And the first two aren't happening.
