Herman opens by saying that he is excited about this week. Says with the short week that "this is like a Tuesday."

Herman says he wants the guys to leave their legacies. Says it is important to head into the off season with momentum.

"To have that tangible result of winning one that on paper we really shouldn't, is important"-Herman on getting on a bowl game

On Poona Ford-"A lot of gratitude from me to Poona. You will not find a harder practicing guy on our football team."

More on Poona-"He finished 3rd on our team in captain voting. He goes so freaking hard all the time. He has two speeds: off and full. All the scouts have told me he will be drafted."

On the extra practices-"The first week or so will be developmental. We will have a lot of coaches on the road recruiting. A lot of individual and fundamental work. Phase two is game prep, and phrase 3 is like a normal game week.

Herman is discussing a potentially new redshirt policy that would allow players to play in 4 games and still redshirt. Says players such as Andrew Beck, Montrell Estell and Kobe Boyce and would be playing this year if that policy was in place.

Herman says Tech will be a very motivated team with the Red Raiders sitting at 5 wins and needing a win for bowl eligibility.

Injury Update: Vahe has a second degree MCL sprain and is out this week. PJ Locke is questionable, but is not likely to play Saturday. Herman says the decision on if Beck wants to return for a 5th year is up to him.

Herman comments on how there has been 2 defensive pass interference in the Longhorns favor when they are on offense out of 419 passes.

"If we play our best on all 3 sides of the football, it's good enough to win. We also know it is going to be a highly motivated football team coming in"-Herman on Tech

On the defensive success Texas has had-"There is experience there and a lot of potential. Todd Orlando is as good of a defensive coordinator as there is in the country."
