I have people over to install hardwood floors tomorrow.  Do you have to tip the crew?  There will be 3 workers.

come on "sflonghorngirl" what kind of hostess would you be, should you not present an impromptu gratuity...   or at least a nice small lunch, as per your hired crew.  whenever i am at my loft in houston, and i should require a bit of "crafts" help, i always make certain that i present an unexpected gratuity as well as an offer of snacks / lunch / dinner.

trust me, once you present this form of genuine kindness vs hospitality...  your hired worker's, shall make certain that they do the BEST job for you!  normally, you can always count upon their professionalism .  it always work's for me.

So, just provide them lunch and drinks and no tips? or with tips?  It's a 2 day job.

And what should I provide them for lunch?

should it be a "2 day" mode of employment...   then "lunch" shall indeed suffice.  try ordering pizza.  no work for you...  and they shall be happy.

I would assume that the workers would be paid by the contractor that I paid.  A tip would never cross my mind.

It's always good to be nice to folks working in your home or come to your home. Once a year (in the summer) I take a cold drinks and maybe some cookies at Christmas out to the folks collecting the garbage on Friday's.  They really appreciate it and they'll always take care of your stuff even if its bends outside of regulations by a pinch. Pizza is perfect.

well, it sounds like everything turned out just groovy "sflonghorngirl"...  let me know.

The goodwill paid off. Was going to be charged $40 more for extra supplies purchased but since I provided lunch yesterday and today, he will comp the additional cost.
