Saban is hired monday/tuesday

recruiting dead period is 12/16-1/15 i think.

this give saban the time to hire his core staff and select recruiting targets for 12/28.

there is national buzz about the Saban hire and no coaches can reach out to their current commits/targets. everyone on the early bowl games will be talking Saban and Texas.

kill shots are made before NSD.

(a) Institutional staff members may have contact with a prospective student-athlete who has been admitted for midyear enrollment, provided the prospective student-athlete has signed a National Letter of Intent or other offer of admission and/or financial aid to attend the institution and is required to be on campus to attend institutional orientation sessions for all students

Coaches can have contact... they just can not have direct contact. They can call people close with them and they can hand over the phone or he can call their high school coaches and the coach can have the player call back.

Saban will be on the phone to the HS coaches to let them know we have interest in their kids. Then when the dead period is over, Nick will go into to seal the deal

The timing is still there. Just going to be a different guy. I do not understand all of the fussing. McPhaul/HornSports has been all over this. A new name will appear and hopefully it works for the "kids" and the fans.
