I would bet you are wrong.

The. BOR has given Powers his orders to get the Mack situation resolved, soon. Those guys gave him a show of support in return for a promise that he would clear up the Mack mess. If he doesn't, expect another BOR meeting soon.

Powers doesn't want to risk the progress he has made by being fired and replaced by a Perry supporter.

That alone is why I think this will get done in the next few days.

You can bet Nick is being kept in the loop as well.

this from the Statesman. I suspect the meeting is Friday morning. No big deal. Powers said they will meet soon and had planned to meet today so it's going to happen. Not good for anyone to delay.

EXACTLY. Powers was reported as "visibly relieved about his own status" after the meeting and you know his orders are clear.

People like Powers and Patterson don't get paid the money they do to sit around biting their nails hoping it will all work out. I've sat through enough boardroom bigwig bitchfests to believe that these guys, once a decision has been made, have set the goal, established a timeline, and that's all there is to it. Waiting through the weekend is probably strategic because Texas has the banquet, Bama has a big recruiting weekend, and AJ has the Heisman stuff Saturday. After reading every report coming out, I'm convinced Nick has inked the deal, Mack knows it, and all parties have agreed to let the media know in due course.

I'm still on the edge of my seat, don't get me wrong, but these guys are powerbrokers because they're not afraid to flip the switches... I'd bet anything, Mack OUT/Saban IN is a done deal.

Fu@k Mack. I'm ready to start treating him as an enemy of the program. Patterson is as impressive as a French Field Marshall. The whole damned program looks infected with rot. We are on the verge of a succession of decisions that may redefine venom and hate come next fall. Hell, I half expect aggys to buy season tickets to our games next year just to enjoy the sight of us expressing just how hated Mack Brown has become.
Here is something even more disgusting. DKR had 167 wins. Right now, that Brown assho!e has 158. Considering he isn't beating Oregon, he would need 9 wins next year to tie DKR's record. He isn't capable of 9 wins. That means if assho!e wants to break DKR's record, he is going to want to stay until 2015. And I bet neither Powers nor Patterson have the balls to stand up for the program. And meanwhile the kids are all on one year scholarships because there has to be a level of accountability. We are becoming a joke.

Currently Mack is an enemy of the program!

You can bet the BMDs are in near constant contact with Nick. I doubt they will let Mack's delaying tactics cost us Nick, especially with the promise to make his real estate financial problems disappear
We need to stay calm and let the power players work this out. My bet is a bunch of pressure will be put on Mack starting Sat morning

If Saban is taking the job, I wonder if this delay is at his request? I have seen some speculate that he does not want to upstage McCarron's Heisman appearance. If Mack announces Friday or Saturday, Saban would be bombarded with attention/questions.

If Mack wait's till at least Sunday, focus is on AJ not on Saban as much.
