Been trying to gather information on this and from what I've gathered this thing absolutely has legs. Messaged with someone on the FSU side of things this morning and was told that no offer has been extended at this time, but with the Noles finishing up the regular season last night things could change soon.

Brewster is already the highest paid TEs coach in the country, so as it was put to me it would probably take an additional title to get him out of Tallahassee. We are going to find out soon if Texas gave Herman the keys to the vault in Austin because there is no doubt FSU will fight to keep him.

Brewster has a previous stint at Texas on his resume already (he was responsible for landing some guy named Vince Young) and it seems that he is open to the idea of returning to Austin.

We will keep our ears open as this continues to play out. Stay tuned, folks.

Thanks Daniel.  Brewster and the DC hire are the most intriguing to me.

I wonder if we throw a Co-OC tag on him given it will be Herman's offense anyways.

If we end up hiring Meekins, does that affect the chances of hiring Brewster?

Ok thanks. Was just curious who his TE products would have been while at UT
Brewster was TE Coach at Texas from 1998 - 2001. He took a job as TE Coach for the

San Diego Chargers sometime in 2002.  Bo Scaife was at Texas for 6 years (due to

redshirt year and medical hardship/injury related year) from 1999 - 2004 seasons.

So Brewster recruited Bo Scaife and coached him until Brewster left for the pro job.

Brewster is credited with recruiting Vince Young, who was part of the 2002 recruiting

class. David Thomas was part of that 2002 recruiting class, so it's likely Brewster

recruited Thomas but never coached him.
