Sam Ehlinger
After a week in which Tom Herman continued to discuss Sam Ehlinger's progress in rehabbing his sprained shoulder, it appears Ehlinger will, in fact, start against Oklahoma State on Saturday in Stillwater. Following Thursday's practice, Herman said "barring any setbacks," Ehlinger would be ready to go.
Sam fully participated in practice on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday but experienced some soreness yesterday after throwing. Herman elaborated on the fact that the soreness was related to the rotator cuff or normal throwing motion as opposed to the injured area of the shoulder.
When asked about his soreness, Sam said it was "painful but not inhibiting," according to Herman.
The staff plans to let Ehlinger play his game on Saturday night and not cut the play-calling to work around the injury. When asked about limiting his scrambling or designed draws, Herman had this to say:
"If you have to win the game, we're going to do what we're going to do.... and he's pretty good at it."
Herman further clarified if Ehlinger would start or simply play in Saturday's game by saying:
"If we had to play today, he would start." "He's thrown the ball great, he's led the offense great this week in practice."
Kris Boyd, Davante Davis and Lil'Jordan Humphrey
All three will sit for at least the first series of the game against OSU after being late for a team function.
"We've got standards around here of being on time and they understand that." - Tom Herman
Injury Updates
On Oklahoma State....
Herman says the team isn't looking at their 4-3 record.
"They have really good players, really good coaches and we're going to see a really good football team in Stillwater."
