Mentally this team and staff are much stronger than last year. We've heard positive things on the energy. The team is just ready to get back on the field, but they are happy to recover from some injuries

I've heard that their demeanor has been surprisingly positive. Frustrated, but ready to go to work. Yes, they have the weekend off.

Shane may have a cracked/broken rib, but it's not confirmed by any means. I heard Evans' injury is very minor, but have not heard anything on Warrick yet. Hopefully other mods have more info

Has the change in practice style (run a ton of plays quickly and dont stop for corrextions) hurt the defense? How much time on the field is spent walking through how each coverage should respond to air raid route combinations? I'm wondering if our guys need more physical practice to back up the film study.

2) I would guess a couple go down in the next two months, but Charlie would rather these things go down in Dec/Jan

What scheme do you feel is the best fit for Texas on defense (3-4, 4-3, etc.)?

I talked to someone about that this week and they didn't think that was the case. They said the tempo in practice helped the defense. I had the same suspicion though.

What are the chances we see more simplified defensive schemes? For example, when Greg Robinson took over in 2013, the schemes were simplified and the defense performed far better following the Manny _iaz dumpster fire against BYU. Due to the youth of this year's defense, and considering the young players vying for playing time, maybe simpler schemes could yield positive results.

What scheme do you feel is the best fit for Texas on defense (3-4, 4-3, etc.)?

I personally like the double fox 3-4 look, but the best answer is probably multiple.

I read a report from Robert Garcia on practice. He said he heard Jones and Elliot got first team reps with jones getting the majority. Hater and Toach were on the field at the same time. hall was playing the role of a big nickel and fowler was being used as a blitzing LB.

I think we've seen a ton of different looks, but Texas is playing a lot of off coverage. I think they'd be better off playing more press man but you need a lot of depth for that
