“Anyone with a brain could tell this was just the NCAA piling on, taking the rare opportunity to unload on a program with no fear of bad public relations.†– Bomani Jones, SBNation contributor.
Mr. Jones always speaks his mind, but in this case I think he is off base. They HAD to take action, and this tragedy is certainly not an opportunity.

“[NCAA president Mark] Emmert was clear he wanted a culture change at Penn State and nothing changes the culture like 5-7 seasons. Football stops being so important.†– Dan Wetzel, Yahoo! Sports columnist.
Mr. Wetzel is one of my favorite writers. Right or wrong, he speaks his mind.

“I now have a glimmer of hope that the men and women running the NCAA and the school presidents in partnership with the NCAA are capable of being shaken from the lie of shamateurism.†– Jason Whitlock, Foxsports.com columnist.
Never been a fan of Whitlock, but the fact he was able to speak on this and not make it racial gives me hope.

“I couldn't help but think while standing there that night that if the first thing I think of when I see a Penn State basketball coach is this Penn State scandal, that's got to be what most basketball recruits think of, too.†– Gary Parrish, CBSSports.com college basketball insider.
100% correct.

“Since November, those affiliated with the university have taken blow after blow to the ideological image they've had about Happy Valley. Will they still flock to the stadium in droves for tailgating this fall? Will they fill the stands even with rising ticket prices?†– Sara Gamin, Harrisburg Patriot-News reporter.
Great questions. Depends on how insane some of the fans are.
