Swoopes started 12 games for the Longhorns in 2014, but was plagued by inconsistency. The junior threw 13 touchdowns and 11 interceptions last season and had to beat out redshirt freshman Jerrod Heard for the starting job heading into 2015. It's the season opening game and it's never easy to play in South Bend, so expect some nerves in the early going for Swoopes.
4. Malik Jefferson Leads All Players In Tackles
Jefferson, a true freshman, is the cornerstone player Texas hopes to rebuild their program on. The prized 2015 recruit will start at middle linebacker and should instantly become a star. In his collegiate debut, Jefferson will dominate from the get-go.

Folston rushed for 889 yards in 2014 and looks primed for a big year for the Fighting Irish. Most importantly for Folston and the Notre Dame rushing attack, the offensive line is one of the strengths of the team. Starting left tackle Ronnie Staley is one of the best players in the country and a potential top 10 pick in next year's NFL draft.

Texas has one of the youngest teams in the country. Freshmen are set to see significant playing time all throughout the depth chart and there will likely be some growing pains early on for coach Strong's young team. Behind a relentless ground attack, the Fighting Irish should get out to a quick lead in front of their raucous home crowd.

The Fighting Irish are simply too talented for the young Longhorns team to compete with this early in the season. Notre Dame has serious playoff aspirations and the talent to back it up. Expect Notre Dame to get out to an early lead and ride the momentum and home crowd to a 34-17 victory.
