This Is What I'm Hearing

If you have read even 5% of my posts you know I hate that rat bastard well b4 this news came out, but until 2 years ago I was a Mack backer.

I don't know if this rumor is true. I do know that once you have been let go/essentially "fired" there is no reason for you to stick around. He doesn't have a job on campus. Special assistant to a president who himself will not have a job soon is not a good thing.

Mack cares about only Mack. That is very clear and the only truth we know to be 100% fact. He doesn't care about Powers, JJ, The University of Texas, DKR, fans, alumni, etc. Mack wanted the wins record at Texas. His actions since the Baylor game are of a vindictive, manipulative, backstabbing, gold digging, bitch. The Forde Yahoo article was from Mack. I don't put a lawsuit past Mack. I expect more behavior like this until the coach is named and if its a big time, slam dunk coach, even after the coach is named. Mack does not want the next coach at Texas to succeed bc it will make Mack look bad.

I can't see JJ helping Mack do this but what do I know about JJ.

We don't need Mack, we don't need JJ or his $150mil.

You have to think if there is even .00001% chance of Mack just considering filing this, he would be out as coach immediately. I hope the leaders of our university don't get bitch slapped by that asshole like they did 2 weeks ago. I happens once already......stay tuned......Mack Is not done messing with Texas yet.

Even if its just a threat, Mack has shown more balls in Dec 2013 than 30+ years of coaching.

So let me get this straight...

The guy has a 2.75 buyout, but we wanted to make it look like it was Mack's idea. It wasn't going to be Mack's idea unless he got the 2.75 plus 1.3 mil until 2020 and even then he balked.....because he really believed that he could fix it after five years of sub standard finishes, blow out losses, and the fan base, earl/ Ricky, and the big money donors turning on him.

Yet, he's going to sue because of contract interference?

How does he really have something to sue about?

Texas pays the 2.75 and he's done...am I right or no?

I'm sure it's more complicated than that but I just don't understand what grounds he has

As I understand it, Texas just needed to pay $2.75million, that's it.

He might not win the case but the threat of it or filing it might be enough for Mack to get what he wants......no Saban, no big time coach.

Funny this came out right after yesterdays news, huh? Saban/Sexton wont like the smell of this at all!!

Funny how this comes out almost immediately after people start saying Saban is a done deal again….puppet masters are at it again. BMD's your bet

If Mack does that, he can kiss any chance at career celebrations, statues, and university honors goodbye. He would be hated at UT. I seriously doubt he can take people hating him

Wouldn't lose any sleep over this. Unless he files in the next week or so I seriously doubt this does anything to hurt our next coaches odds.

Easy answer. Call his bluff and force him to alienate the university and its fans.

If Saban or another big name coach won't deal with it, then so be it. Time to stop allowing Mack to hold the cards.

With all due respect to the OP there is almost no chance of this happening. The anti-Mack sentiment seems to be making people delusional. Deep breath everyone

If this is remotely true, Patterson needs to call his bluff and make a public statement that the MBTF camp is considering / contemplating litigation against The University. Therefore, The University is removing MBTF from head coach operations for the Alamo Bowl.

The University of Texas much much much bigger than MBTF and should flex its collective muscle on Mack.

The Mack hate on this board has jumped the shark.
On the contrary, people not disliking Mack enough, earlier is what might have led to this. I am guilty myself. He should not have been given 4 years to fix the problems he created.

Thanks for sharing. I guess I find it hard to believe that even Mac would go to those lengths. As Java said Texas is a right to work state and I'm not sure who he thinks he is to think he can get away with something like this. At this point, is this is true, Patterson needs to dismiss him immediately from all coaching duties.

Merry Christmas to all.

It's astounding but after 16 yrs here Mack still doesn't get Texas. If he and JJ were to do this, he may not get how hated he would become. He is pissed off, has no case but certainly can make us look bad and scare off some good coaches. If he does this he will be hated and run out of Texas. It's just like the ouSuxx game, he still doesn't understand that it's not just another game. Mack still doesn't get Texas

If Mack does in fact plan on doing this, this just goes to show that there was a lot more going than him just "resigning". His true character seems to be revealing itself. I'll be buying this book.

What do you say if the news is true?
How can the man be defended at this point?(not saying you are btw)
First, it's not "news," it's rumor.

Now, there's only 2 ways Mack is out. He's fired/bought-out. Or, he's resigned/negotiated-settlement.

If he was going to sue, he'd of been fired. You don't negotiate a settlement and then sue.

E=PJB;43454]Not throwing rocks at what you are hearing and from whom but it makes no sense to me. Mack Brown publically announced his resignation. In addition, he accepted a non-coaching position with UT and for that simple reason, filing a lawsuit makes no sense to me. It also appears contrary to his actions throughout 16 years.

exactly this

I do love that I'm getting "Thank You Mack" t-shirt ads from the Coop on this site as I'm reading this thread.
