As the DeLoss Dodds tenure draws to a close, enter Steve Patterson. Dodds has definitely vacated a large pair of hush puppies for sure. A tip of the hat to the man who stood watch over an athletic program for 32 years! I don't think anyone has ever had that long a tenure on the 40? Thanks for all you did to make the Texas trademark so visible nationally and turn the athletic program into a Fortune 500 Empire! You weren't always the most popular of people in Austin, but you weathered every storm and stood tall. Now, we embark on a new horizon with a true Texas Ex, who has his course to chart and direction to take. What will Patterson's first move be? I know everyone is anxious to see how he manages an ultra-successful business that's hit a bit of a rut. Welcome aboard, Mr. Patterson. The floor is yours and the brooms are in the closet.
